The winner of the international food photo contest is a picture of a kebab seller from Kashmir.

The Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year 2022 went to an image of a street vendor in Srinagar, Kashmir, taken by the Indian photographer Debdatta Chakraborty.
In the picture called “Kebabiyana,” a vendor is seen working in a smoky restaurant. As he works on what looks like meat kebabs, he is surrounded by smoke.
The picture was taken in an alley in Srinagar called Khayyam Chowk.
During the day, it looks like any other street. But in the evening, when vendors light multiple charcoal ovens and wazwan kebabs cook on the grills, this street becomes a hub of activity and a foodie’s paradise.
Caroline Kenyon, who started and runs Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year, said that the winning photo “beautifully captured the billowing embrace of the smoke, the golden light, and the subject’s expression as he prepares the food for sharing.”
“Skewers are making sparks, and we can almost smell them roasting.” We can almost smell the warm, delicious smell. “This image, which is soft but strong, feeds our souls,” Ms. Kenyon said.
Monica Galetti, the owner of a restaurant, a judge on MasterChef, and a well-known chef around the world, announced the winners at a ceremony that was live-streamed on YouTube.
This year, thousands of people from all over the world took part in the competition, and for each category, an overall winner was chosen.
